How to bid for project funds?
All project bids should be submitted to the British Embassy Project Team. The bid must:
- demonstrate that the project could not happen without money from the fund provider
- support the FCO's strategic objectives and Embassy objectives and strategies;
- help achieve policy goals;
- have clear and realistic objectives;
- if applicable, identify a target audience and a format that will appeal to that audience;
- provide a realistic planning and implementation time;
- set out a process for monitoring and evaluating the work;
- demonstrate value for money;
- provide a clear budget breakdown;
- highlight what resources will be used and why they have been selected;
- identify potential risks and how they will be managed;
Where possible, the bid should also seek to:
- demonstrate the means of delivery, as well as an innovative message;
- actively involve more than one organisation;
- identify other external sources of funding (for larger bids).
What else you should know?
- bids must be submitted in English;
- costs should be outlined in EURO or LEK;
- awards do not usually pay salaries or ongoing running costs of organisations.
- Money should be directed at visible and accountable activities;
- awards do not usually cover food and refreshment;
- awards do not support scholarships.
