Passport Fees

The British Consulate in Tirana issues only emergency passports, but these are issued only in cases of genuine and pressing emergency and are valid for only a single journey back to the UK. All other passports are issued via the British Consulate in Paris. Applications for British passports can be lodged at the British Embassy in Tirana for dispatch to the British Embassy in Paris.  The process will take a minimum of 6-7 weeks. If you want the passport to be issued at an earlier date you will be required to pay the courier fee.

If you were born on or before 2 September 1929, you may be entitled to a free 10-year passport.

With effect from 5 October 1998, children are required to hold their own passports. Children already included on their parents’ passports will not be affected until the parent’s passport is replaced or the child reaches the age of 16. Please note that your child's passport will be valid for 5 years only, and will not be extendible.
