HM Ambassador Fiona McIlwham
Fiona McIlwham joined the Foreign Office in 1998, after completing an MSc in Development Economics and an assignment at the European Commission. She worked on the 1998 G8 Summit; was posted to Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2000; and ran the British Embassy Office in Banja Luka in 2003. She lead the FCO’s European Economic & Social Policy Team during the UK Presidency of the EU (in 2005). In Iraq and Washington (2006-07), she worked on Middle East issues, including on secondment to the US State Department. Most recently, she was a Project Manager in the Directorate-General for Change and Delivery, working on the FCO’s internal reform.
Her partner, Daniel Korski, is a senior fellow at the pan-European think tank, the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR).
